VISX Laser Performs Two Millionth LASIK Procedure
December 6, 2000
Over two million LASIK procedures have been performed using the VISX
STAR laser system. The VISX laser is believed to be the tool used in
around two-thirds of the LASIK surgeries conducted in the United States.
VISX reports the milestone as an affirmation of their commitment to
research and development. The first one million procedures were performed
in a period of 42 months, while the second million took only 14 months
to be completed, indicating an increase in the popularity of the treatment.
